Hornstull Sauna

Welcome to a public sauna in the middle of Södermalm, Stockholm. The Hornstull sauna is a calm, safe and welcoming place between the city’s bustle and the willow trees. The sauna is open year-round.

We advise against bathing

We currently advise against bathing, as water samples show that the water quality is currently not suitable for bathing.

We monitor the water quality regularly and will update this page when the water quality is suitable for bathing again.

The sauna remains open as usual, and showers are available.

Water quality is monitored regularly

Algal blooms and naturally occurring bacteria can sometimes be present in Stockholm's waters during summer. We regularly monitor the bathing water quality at Hornstullsbastun.

If water samples show that the water is not suitable for bathing, we advise against bathing and instead recommend using the outdoor showers and sauna buckets.
